~LECTURERS~
Associate Vice-President, Planning at UBC Nancy Knight
Executive Director, UBC Sustainability Initiative John Robinson
The Applied Sustainability: UBC As A Living Laboratory course integrates teaching, learning and research on sustainability to inform and contribute to the long-term strategic development at UBC. Using the campus as the unit of study, through this course, UBC acts as a living laboratory where ideas may be incubated, tested and realized. By implementing innovative ideas on community level, UBC can support the realization of these ideas elsewhere and thus be a driver of sustainable development in society.
In this second lecture of the series, UBC Campus and Community Planning Associate Vice-President Nancy Knight and UBC Sustainability Initiative Executive Director Professor John Robinson will discuss the “UBC Campus Sustainability Initiative” and how the university incorporates the multiple interpretations of sustainability and their differences. This series engages UBC staff members and scholars in dialogues on how to make UBC an agent of change and is open to all members of the general public.
