The Division of Liberal Arts and International Studies at Colorado School of Mines invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track Hennebach Assistant Professor in energy and policy studies.
The successful candidate will have social science and/or humanities expertise on issues related to energy and policy, and will contribute to a new specialization in Science, Technology, Energy, and Policy within our Master’s program. The candidate will also teach one undergraduate seminar to top Mines students in the McBride Honors Program in Public Affairs, as well as other undergraduate courses related to the candidate’s expertise.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. awarded no later than June 2012. While we seek expertise in energy and policy, the disciplinary field is open, and might include: public policy, political science, anthropology, history, science policy, sociology, science and technology studies (STS), communication, environmental studies, or other social sciences and humanities. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for teaching and ongoing research, as well as demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, with an interest in teaching undergraduates primarily from science and engineering majors. The successful applicant must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills including excellent writing skills.
