Master’s Students

As per forthcoming curriculum changes to the RMES program, the IRES Faculty strongly recommend that incoming fall 2011 masters students follow the course schedule below during their 2 year program.  As our program revisions are not yet formally approved by the UBC senate, we cannot insist on this plan. It is instead our strong recommendation only. [The former program is that listed in the Masters program page.] All course plans should be discussed with your supervisors before or upon arrival at UBC.

Our incoming PhD students are expected to have taken the equivalents to most of the foundation courses offered in our Master’s program.  Nonetheless, the IRES Faculty recommends that PhD students successfully complete three courses before proceeding to PhD candidacy.

As our program revisions are not yet formally approved by the UBC senate, we cannot insist on this plan. It is instead our strong recommendation only.[The former program is that listed in the PhD program page.] All course plans should be discussed with your supervisors before or upon arrival at UBC.
