Upon completion the student will:
- Develop an understanding of various facets of UBC operations (governance, transportation, water and energy) through a sustainability lens;
- Increased capacity to analyze social, economic and environmental impacts of alternative technical solutions;
- Have an increased understanding of conflicting goals in infrastructure planning;
- Improve their discussions skills, including active listening and oral communication skills;
- Improve their capacity to select and comprehend research material for writing a persuasive essay;
- Be able to demonstrate critical thinking and writing skills in a persuasive essay about a sustainability issue.
